8 of NYC’s Most Instagram Friendly Hotels

We’re back for another instalment of our top Instagram friendly hotels; and this time we thought we’d take you over the pond to the infamous big apple!

Whether you like it or not, social media has transformed the way we travel. Case-in-point: An increasing number of travellers are turning to Instagram – not only to document their trips, but also in search of holiday inspiration. After all, if you went away and didn’t put it on the ‘gram, did you even go at all?

This month, we’ve clubbed together our top 8 hotels on and around the iconic island of Manhattan, NYC! With beautiful views and snazzy designs, the following properties are picture-perfect – #nofilter necessary.

Remember! This is just a handful of selected hotels out of thousands we can book. We have a full range of services all at your fingertips, so let’s get talking!

Moxy Times Square

What: This hotel promises an energetic alternative to the typical hotel experience, ideally placed where Uptown and Downtown collide! From the moment you enter the tech-laden lobby, it’s apparent that this hotel is aimed at 21st century hospitality for the Instagram generation. The real hotspot however, is their all-season rooftop bar (New York’s largest by the way), that houses a DJ, epic views of the Empire State Building and even an urban amusement park – anyone else care to tee off on the roof?

Where: 485 7th Ave, New York, NY 10018

Yotel

What: Just a hopscotch away from Times Square, this hotel promises a new breed of accommodation in the heart of Manhattan. The lobby feels like the Starship Enterprise, with airport-style touch-screen check in machines and the main act, the Yobot; the hydraulic arm guarding the giant wall of luggage lockers.

Psst! Don’t forget to head to the terrace at night for a truly magical view of the New York City skyline.

Where: 570 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036

Williamsburg Hotel

What: This on-trend hotel has an industrial Brooklyn aesthetic with some seriously enviable views of Manhattan’s skyline. If you opt for a room on the East River side of the building, you can even eyeball Manhattan’s looming skyline from your bedroom windows! With its teal jewel tones, Chesterfields, chevron wood floors, highly ‘grammable copper bar (crowned by a kaleidoscopic unicorn rainbow halo), rooftop pool and tall red brick and glass building exterior, this hotel easily ticks all the style boxes (A* Insta pics guaranteed)! But wait – there’s more! Need a ride to the bars, subways or shops? No problem! Their complimentary chauffeur-driven tuk-tuk is happy to take you!

Where: 96 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11249

The Standard, High Line

What: Rising above the former raised train line, (that has easily become one of the most instagrammed public spaces in New York), The Standard hotel is located in NYC’s Meatpacking District. All of their 337 rooms have stunning floor-to-ceiling windows which either overlook the Hudson River or straddle the popular High Line Park. Whilst you’re there, the places that you definitely need to check out are (in no particular order of course), the bustling German beer Garden, the legendary Top of The Standard (views for days) and the public plaza with rotating art installations and a even winter ice rink!

Where: 848 Washington St., New York, NY 10014

Dream Downtown

What: You’ll definitely feel the spirit of Chelsea’s nightlife in this spectacular hotel – the Dream Downtown puts a large emphasis on top-class service and after-dark possibilities. A bombshell design both inside and out, the Dream Downtown pays homage to its former tenants (the National Maritime Union of America), with its porthole-bedecked design. This gorgeous hotel is home to some of the hottest chef-driven dining and entertainment in the city, so you needn’t leave the property! Impossible to forget and easy to Instagram, this glamorous party hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Where: 355 W 16th St, New York, NY 10011

Freehand

What: Located in Manhattan’s Flatiron District, this eclectic hotel was formerly home to the iconic George Washington Hotel – famously known for it’s abundance of creative guests from storied writers, to musicians and creative’s. You can expect their signature brand of striking colour combinations, such as teal blue walls, bottle green tiling and marble aplenty. All 395 rooms follow the same ‘American craftsman’ aesthetic, which span from Bunk rooms to the Penthouse.

Psst! Don’t forget to visit the ‘George Washington Bar’, with fantastical cocktails, devilled eggs and Osetra Caviar on toast!

Where: 23 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10010

Hudson

What: With accents of lavish architecture, this impressive 3-star hotel was built in 1929 and was home to The American Woman’s Association, news station WNET and even housed Dutch soldiers during World War II.  Inspired by the romance of transatlantic travel, the Hudsons’ rooms transport you to another place and time without any need to leave the city. Soak up the social atmosphere and design of Phillipe Starck and enjoy their in-house beer hall or even a cocktail with spectacular views from the Sky Terrace. It’s no surprise that this hotel has been featured in several TV shows such as Gossip Girls and Sex and the City.

Where: 358 West 58th Street, Hell’s Kitchen, New York, NY 10019

PUBLIC

What: The aesthetic is sleek and streamlined in PUBLIC; employing polished concrete, bamboo and bleached wood. This hotel has eliminated the traditional hotel experience; there is no reception, and you check in on your phone or one of the many iPads. There are no bellboys, but instead a team of youthful, multitasking ‘Public Advisors’ in t-shirts and high-tops (and no stuffy turndown service). More popular is the rooftop bar, with 360-degree views over the city and outdoor beds, and Public Arts, the expansive basement space which hosts screenings, club nights and performances.

Psst! Don’t forget to take a ride on the neon escalator!

Where: 215 Chrystie St, New York, NY 10002
