At Your Service: Behind Closed Doors in Liverpool

We’ve picked the brains of Malmaison Liverpool, Sales Manager Helen Duffy for the inside scoop of everything you need to know for your next trip to Liverpool. From how to get around the city, to the best eateries, and even 1 or 2 hidden gems, this is the business know-how on popular business destinations from the locals themselves.

What are your top restaurant recommendations?

“Panoramic 34 for the best fine dining with views of the magnificent Liverpool skyline, The Art School for some fancy locally sourced food and fine dining and Matou Pan Asian for something spicy…”

Are there any hidden treasures you’d recommend?

“The Radio City Tower Tour is a 400 foot high viewing gallery with 360 degree views of the views of Merseyside, the Wirral, North Wales and as far away as the Cumbrian Hills on clearer days. Cocktails on the OH ME OH MY roof garden, overlooking the Royal Liver Building is one experience you can’t miss. Finally, the Baltic Triangle is fit to burst with local independent food & drink stalls.”

Which area of Liverpool should travellers stay?

“The waterfront (where we are!) or Liverpool One are amongst the best locations to stay in.”

If one of our business travellers only has a few hours to see Liverpool, what must they see?

“A trip to Liverpool is not complete without a visit to The Cavern Club to see where is all began for the fab 4!”

What’s the best way of getting round Liverpool?

“Liverpool is quite a small city, so most of it is walkable, but if not we have plenty of Hackney cabs or 2 city centre train stops.”

Where can I get my caffeine fix?

“Filter + Fox is a cool, modern coffeehouse with simple uncluttered looks, which serve the best artisan coffee and freshly-made snacks.”

Where’s the best ‘Happy Hour’?

Mal Bar of course – every friday from 5pm to 8pm its TMI Friday (Thank Mal it’s Friday) and we offer £6 cocktails, £5 spirit with mixers and unlimited Prossecco for £20pp!”

If you have 5 words to describe your hotel what would you use?

“Modern, unique, stylish, cool and Scouse!”
