Eggstravagant Easter Escapes in 2018

What better feeling than checking your diary and realising that there’s a long weekend approaching; and in less than 2 weeks! With four full free days to fill, why not turn your attention away from the isle’s stacked high to the sky with indulgent chocolate eggs and start planning an eggstravagant Easter escape for the whole family to enjoy.

Whether you’re looking for an utterly indulgent romantic getaway for two, a fun-filled adventure weekend for the family (mini me’s and four legged friends included) or a venturesome voyage for one, we have it covered with a list of our go-to destinations to get the whole family eggcited this Easter!

Edinburgh

Come rain or shine, you’re guaranteed to find something for the whole family to enjoy in this history rich city. From the jaw-dropping architecture to the mind-blowing historical attractions and every museum in-between, this UNESCO World Heritage Site offers more than enough attractions to fill each day to the brim this Easter.

Lisbon

In less than three hours direct from London, you could be soaking up the sun in Portugal’s sunny Capital. Being budget friendly, this trip of a lifetime won’t break the bank either (more money in your pocket to splash out on a scrumptious seafood specialty). A capital like no other, Lisbon has both a mixture of vibrant and calm.  Whether you want to indulge in the cities museums or galleries, or stroll off the beaten track to soak in the sea and sun, Lisbon is definitely our go-to for some winter sun this Easter.

Reykjavik

Late March, early April is the perfect time to visit Iceland’s awe-inspiring Capital, Reykjavik. With April being the last month for optimum ‘Northern Light’ spotting, the days a little longer and the weather a little warmer, it’s the perfect time to jet off to tick the many boxes that Iceland takes up on our ‘bucket lists’ this April. Trips are readily available from Reykjavik often for three days or less so you won’t have to worry about not squeezing in a trip to the well known ‘Blue Lagoon’.

Newquay

Think miles of white sandy beaches, picturesque fishing villages and mouth-watering freshly prepared food. No, we’re not talking about a far away, exotic land; we’re talking about Newquay, Cornwall! With many of the beaches being ‘four-legged friend’ friendly, this is the perfect escape for the entire family to enjoy! Surf lessons, SUP, kite surfing, paint balling… the list of activities to partake in is endless; Perfect for those seeking an adrenaline filled weekend this Easter.

Rome

Easter in Rome is an experience like no other! Not only is this beautiful city an ultimate city break in itself, but there are even more perks when visiting over the Easter period. On 1st April 2018, all archaeological sites and museums offer free entry! Despite the long queuing (in hopefully the hot sun), imagine time spent wandering around the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum and many many more for FREE!

So whether you’re packing the car so full you can’t remember if you packed the dog or taking a sophisticated city break to tick some boxes off of your bucket list, we hope the above has made the process of deciding where to jet off to this Easter a little easier.

Happy Easter!
