As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring we get the best rates and hotels for you, we recently sent one of our Business Development team to the Anantara Hotel in The Algarve, Portugal for three days to attend an international conference, I know, hard life isn’t it?
They were attending an annual conference which was hosted by Connections, a company whose main goal is to connect suppliers with agencies across the world but with a twist.
Rather than the usual one-to-one meetings we normally attend, our colleague got to take part in experiences, which varied from, tuk-tuk rides, classic car rides, jewellery making, tile painting, wine tasting, games and much more.
Now, you’re probably thinking that it sounds like we were having too much fun, however the experiences were shared with one supplier at a time which allowed us to have a more casual meeting and break down any invisible barriers that can sometimes occur in your regular one-to-one desk-based meetings.
After the day’s meetings were over we were then hosted to a plethora of events, including a fantastic meal at the Anantara Hotel, with live entertainment from a local singer and dishes created by a wonderful team of chefs.
During the second day we were again treated to an array of experiences and a chance to have more meetings with suppliers. During the evening we had a change of location, this time it was the Conrad Hotel which again hosted an evening to remember, including traditional dancers, singers and food again prepared and served by a wonderful team of experienced chefs.
The final day saw us moved to the Pine Cliffs Hotel, a wonderful coastal hotel with its very own elevator to the beach, very fancy.
With plenty of meetings throughout the day and the exchange of business cards the conference was over – but not before a final closing party of course!
