Pet-Friendly Hotel Chains

From spider-monkeys to our beloved four legged friends, over the past 35 years we’ve had the pleasure of booking accommodation and travel for pretty much most of the animal kingdom.

After seeing a huge influx of pet-friendly bookings in the past 2 years, we thought it was about time for another helpful guide to help you discover which hotel chains will give you and your animal companion (or perhaps companions) a very warm welcome!

Please note: Although some hotels may state that they are pet friendly, dogs aren’t usually allowed to be left unattended in guest rooms. There also may be restrictions on the areas where your dog is allowed in the hotel – such as dining areas. Hotels may insist on dogs being kept on leads at all times.

Kimpton

The Kimpton brand (under the IHG group), have been pet-friendly since they were founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton, who often brought his dog Chianti to work!

Today, Kimpton’s Director of Pet Relations greet guests in the hotel lobby and make sure to test all of the pet amenities (including wine hour)…they also have a tendency to drool and lie down on the job! Their policy is simple, it doesn’t matter if your pet is furry, feathery or scaly, as long as he/she can fit through the door, there’s no extra charge!

Aloft

Just say “ARF” and Aloft will answer the call! The modern and unique Aloft brand (under Marriott Hotel Group) charm four-legged travellers (and their owners) with their Animals R Fun (ARF) program.

You and your pet will feel right at home, with a complimentary ARF kit full of pet toys, tasty treats, their own bowl, a dog tag and a signature Aloft pet bed!  Your four-legged friend (up to 40 pounds) can even explore the hotel’s social space, including the 24/7 snack bar with a lounge and pool table!

Hotel Du Vin

If you’re looking for something with a little bit of luxury for you and your pet, why not try the stylish, boutique hotel chain, Hotel du Vin. With 19 unique hotels throughout the UK, you’re spoilt for choice!

Now, whilst your four-legged friend won’t be allowed in the Bistro restaurant, they can join you for a bite to eat in the bar! Blanket and bed are included, just be sure your dog is at least year old before staying here though (something about being more mature)!

Canopy by Hilton

Canopy by Hilton has extended its signature, energizing hospitality to include your four-legged friends! Canopy’s ‘Paws in the Neighbourhood’ experience begins with each and every dog receiving their very own welcome kit! This includes a BARK toy, dog treats and of course a dog’s guide to the neighbourhood – a handy directory of dog-centric places nearby!

Of course, it doesn’t end there, guest rooms include food and water bowls and that all important ‘Just Right’ bed for them to rest up after a busy day and a bed for you of course!

Travelodge

Last and by no means least is Travelodge! Travelodge pride themselves on offering good levels of comfort at affordable prices. With 500 hotels around the UK, there’s bound to be one near to where you need to be! The great news is that all Travelodge hotels are pet friendly, and allow 2 dogs per room!
