Standard Hollywood

 

What: This West Hollywood Hotel has become an institution. Expect the unexpected when staying here; from their secret nightclub to the cactus lounge or their blue AstroTurf poolside, this hotel has something for everyone!

Top tip: Don’t miss ‘The Box’,  this art installation features models lounging in a glass enclosure directly behind reception. Artists take over residences of ‘The Box’ and it’s even been featured in an episode of Sex and the City!

 


 

Hotel Figuerola

What: Part of the Downtown resurgence, Hotel Figuerola has just completed a massive multi-million dollar refurbishment project. The hotel plays tribute to it’s history, with a strong focus on Women’s art (it was home to America’s first female hotel manger after all), Spanish colonial themed décor and it’s original coffin shaped pool. Close to LA Live, the Convention Centre and the Staples Center, it’s the perfect oasis in the centre of Downtown.

Nomad Hotel

 

What: This former Bank of Italy building recently opened following a huge restoration project. With 360o views from it’s rooftop pool, it’s the perfect place to grab a drink and admire Downtown LA. Each room features a unique selection of curated artwork.

Top tip: Don’t forget to check out the restrooms, located in the banks former vault (you can still see some of the safety deposit boxes).

 


 

Petit Ermitage

 

What: Escape the city and stay at the Petit Ermitage, a bohemian dream in West Hollywood. With an eclectic collection of artefacts and art work, you’ll feel like you have entered Wonderland.
