Romance isn’t dead…yet

14th February, Valentines Day, feel inadequate about your love life day. There’s no denying that Valentines Day isn’t for everyone, from cliché proposals to sobbing into leftovers, we’ve all had a Valentines we’ll never forget (be that for the good or the bad)!

We’ve seen it on the big screen a thousand times, candlelit dinners, kissing in the rain (in these artic conditions you’ve got to be crazy) and enough red roses to get your hay fever going, but in reality with scary schedules and daunting deadlines, we barely have enough time to put a bit of lippy on in the morning, let alone put on a lavish spread for our loved ones.

Working in such a fast paced environment sometimes it can be easy to forget to, ‘stop and smell the roses’, trust us we know, but luckily for you, planning, organising and sourcing the best spots in town is what we do best, which is why we’ve sourced some of the most romantic venues about to impress that special someone this year.

Aqua Shard, London

With panoramic views across London’s jaw-dropping skyline, we can’t think of a better way to get your heart racing this Valentines. Perfectly positioned tables optimise the view from the 31st floor (not for the faint hearted) and with mouth-wateringly good British cuisine readily available, this London hotspot is one to keep in mind this February.

Wilks, Bristol

Bristol’s best kept secret, Wilks, located on Chandos Road in the Redland area. A modern and vibrant restaurant dedicated to creating exciting new flavours using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. We think this is a great find to tantalise your taste-buds!

Admiral St David’s, Cardiff

For breathtaking views across Cardiff Bay, head to Admiral located in the St David’s Hotel, Cardiff. Executive Chef Martyn Watkins showcases some of the best meat and fish in Wales, sure to leave a lasting impression. Fresh sea air and one too many cocktails are a recipe for a very tired head, so why not make a night of it with a stay in one of the St David Hotel’s luxurious bedrooms? The ultimate treat for your special someone!

The Canal House, Birmingham

We all need  to slow down, unwind and take time to be with friends and family, which is why we love the relaxed and elegant delights of The Canal House Birmingham. Why not shake up a stir this Valentine’s with a cocktail making master class? Who said Valentines was all about the fancy food – grab some friends and have some fun!

Panoramic 34, Liverpool

Another one for those who truly want to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets below, head to Panoramic 34 to keep your head well and truly in the clouds! Set 300 feet above sea level, this venue is one of the UK’s highest restaurants.  With changing tides, seasons and times, no experience at Panoramic 34 is the same!

So whether you’re planning an utterly-romantic evening for your loved one, heading out with friends, or just finding the time to treat yourself to a little TLC there’s something suitable for everyone this February 14th.

Pssst, don’t forget, Valentines is on a Wednesday this year (you can thank us later).
