FCO Official Updates
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) are have advised against all travel to Hubei Province due to the ongoing novel coronavirus outbreak. They have also advised against all but essential travel to the rest of mainland China (not including Hong Kong and Macao).
Further screening methods have been introduced to UK airports with direct flights from China which will see a team of rotating public health experts available to support anyone feeling unwell upon returning from China.
10/03/2020 – The FCO now advises against all but essential travel to Italy. British nationals remain able to depart Italy without restriction. Airline schedules are subject to change and some flights are being cancelled.
16/03/2020 – The FCO advise against all but essential travel to the USA, due to restrictions put in place by the US government, in response to the outbreak of coronavirus.
17/03/2020 – The FCO have no advised against all non-essential travel overseas.
Airline Updates
Many international airlines have issued travel restrictions or cancellations. This list will be updated regularly as airlines issue warnings or limitations.
All amendments and cancellation must be actioned before the flights original departure date.
British Airways
Flights until the 29th Feb are cancelled to mainland China, Hong Kong flights are operating normal at present.
Virgin Atlantic
Passengers travelling until the 30th April to Shanghai can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May. Should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
KLM/Air France
Anyone travelling to mainland China between now and the 31st March, can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May or should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
Turkish Airlines
Anyone travelling to mainland China between now and the 31st March, can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May or should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
Finnair
All flights to mainland China are suspended, passengers can claim a full refund or rebook another date.
Qatar
All flights to mainland China are suspended, passengers can claim a full refund or rebook another date.
China Eastern
Anyone travelling to mainland China between now and the 31st March, can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May or should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
Air China
Anyone travelling to mainland China between now and the 31st March, can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May or should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
Beijing Capital Airlines
Passengers can cancel with a full refund or rebook on to another flight within a year of the original departure date.
Cathay Pacific
Passengers travelling until the 29th February to China can amend their flight to another date until the 31st May. Should passengers wish to they may cancel with a full refund.
Emirates
Full refunds or amend to another flights with 7 days of the original travel date.
Government Updates
Due to the ongoing situation with the Coronavirus the following Governments have made the decision to restrict entry for foreign visitors who have travelled to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau).
Antigua or Barbuda
Anyone who has been to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) in the past 2 months, will not be allowed to travel.
Tel Aviv Israel
Anyone who has been to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) in the last 14 days, will not be allowed to travel.
Montego Bay Jamaica
Anyone who has been to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) in the last 14 days, will not be allowed to travel.
Mumbai, Delhi, India
Anyone who has been to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) in the last 14 days, will not be allowed to travel.
Singapore
Singapore are blocking entry or transit for visitors with travel history to Italy, France, Spain and Germany within the last 14 days.
USA
Anyone who has been to China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) on or after 15 January 2020, will not be allowed to travel.
The U.S. has banned travel from Europe to the United States for 30 days due to the coronavirus outbreak. The travel restrictions do not apply to US citizens returning home from Europe. Neither the UK nor Ireland are included in the travel ban, which begins at midnight Friday 13th March.
