M&I Forums

Thoughts of Mickey Mouse, Space Mountain, Sleeping Beauty’s Castle and M& I Forums

Wait, what?

100editionsThat’s right, M&I recently hosted their 100th forum at Disney’s magical park, east of Paris. I was lucky enough to be granted a sport as a hosted buyer to attend this landmark event, held at the Conference Centre in Disney’s Newport Bay Hotel.

A short flight, and a familiarisation exercise on Thursday, was followed by a packed schedule of 28 meetings from 9am until early afternoon across 2 days. Having attended several of these events in the past, I have to say that M&I did a great job. Appointments were relevant, suppliers were engaged and the M&I staff did a great job of keeping the event on track, and more importantly, on time.

The suppliers came from all over Western Europe, and Access unique selling point of Media Specialists certainly grabbed their attention and proved useful in building relationships.

Upon my return to the office, the contacts were keen to be in touch, and Access have used a lot of them in the short period since the event happened, a sure sign of a great success.

But it wasn’t all work, Thursday night saw a circus themed Dinner at the Magic House Vienna, which provided great food, good wine and lots of laughs.

And after a hard 2/3 a day slaving away in a conference room, what better way to blow away the cobwebs than by a golf lesson from Disney’s very own on site golf pros. A beautiful course in the nearby countryside wasn’t too scarred by my performance, but I don’t think Sergio has anything to worry about….

The event was topped off with a Black Tie Gala Dinner at Disney’s MGM Studios, inside a hangar that was very much Hollywood. A quick ride on the Tower of terror, a good meal and plenty of dancing (by others) rounded of a fantastic forum.
