Top Tips: Staying Fit on the Go

The lifestyle of business travel can be glamorous, seeing new cities and staying in luxurious hotels (which make great material for Instagram), but maintaining a healthy diet and exercise routine can be difficult!

Ever said, “I’d love to get in shape but I travel too much” – then this is the guide for you! Here’s just a handful of top tips that will help you stay fit on the go!

Don’t Skip Breakfast

We all know work trips can be more than hectic, so it’s important to start the day off right with a decent breakfast. Now it doesn’t have to be an elaborate affair, the trick is to simply choose something with plenty of fibre to keep you going throughout the day, like cereal with fresh fruit over the traditional greasy English breakfast!

Just Keep Walking!

It could be quicker to take a taxi (or an Uber – whichever you prefer), but if your journey is short, why not walk? Use walking as an opportunity to explore new places, rather than seeing it as exercise. Being active doesn’t have to be boring!

Book the Right Hotel!

The next tip is common sense really, make sure to choose a hotel with a decent gym…and then actually use it. Commit to working out in the hotel gym at least every other day – even then you don’t have to spend forever in there, just 20 minutes here and there to get your heart rate up and a decent sweat on! Stay Hydrated

Chances are you’ve gone straight from a plane to an air-conditioned meeting room. You might not be aware of it but travelling makes you dehydrated. So drink plenty! Trust us, your body will thank you for it!
