Right opposite Principality Stadium (formerly the Millennium Stadium) and smack bang in the middle of Cardiff city is Zerodegrees, a microbrewery and pizza restaurant! Zerodegrees promises some of the best, innovative cuisine in Cardiff and is based on locally sourced ingredients. No visit would be complete without trying the mango beer…tastes like heaven!

Wahaca is not only the UK’s first carbon neutral restaurant, it also promises that it serves up the ‘Tidiest Tacos on the Taff’! This Mexican is set across three floors, with a cracking tequila bar on the top level. So you could tuck into a taco (or two) or just pop by for a few tequila cocktails (and soak it up with a bowl of lush nachos of course!)

Or why not try something a little…different, head to The Clink, one of the city’s most famous restaurants! This, of course, might have something to do with the fact that the meals are cooked and served by prisoners, working towards NVQ qualifications. The Clink proudly cooks some of the best Welsh produce on offer and is one of the top fine dining spots in the city, winning a multitude of awards!

Tucked away in the corner of Barrack Lane, is Cardiff’s secret cocktail bar, The Dead Canary, home to some of the most talented bartenders the city has to offer. The empty bird cage, hanging outside an inconspicuous fire escape is the start of your journey, as you are transported back in time to an era of jazz music, prohibited alcohol consumption and extravagant cocktails! The Dead Canary is a secret you’ll want to keep for yourself….

If you’ve just hopped off the train, The Great Western is your first pit stop! From the Great Western Railway to Roald Dahl, Cardiff’s history is covered within! Built in 1879, the Great Western Hotel served the nearby Great Western Railway station. Today, 140 years later, it’s home to the ever popular, Wetherspoons!

If you’re after a decent beer look no further than the epic Tiny Rebel Cardiff! Just across from Principality Stadium and housed in the former fire station, is a bar run by Tiny Rebel, a cult craft brewing company based in nearby Newport. This bar plays host to regular foodie pop-ups and themed evenings meaning there’s always a reason to pop in for a tipple…or two!
